The School of Civil Engineering and the Environment is a world-class centre for research and education in civil and environmental engineering and applied environmental science. We work with industry and governments to address some of the key problems facing the world today, including security of energy supply; transportation; infrastructure; environmental protection; resource management; and mitigating the effects of climate change. Our core business is knowledge. We provide courses and degrees that enable our students to acquire knowledge. Through our research we generate new knowledge, and we apply this knowledge to real life problems.
